Paul
Sandweiss
Paul got his start in the business in 1976 at Wally Heider Recording.
He became chief engineer of mobile operations, traveling
too much and having the opportunity to work with many talented live
engineers, studio engineers, and producers on various live projects,
from the Academy Awards to the Last Waltz. After leaving Heider’s
in 1980, Paul became a freelance engineer and mixed many live for broadcast
specials, series, and award shows including The Academy Awards, the
Ace Awards, The American Music Awards, The Billboard Awards, The Espy
Awards, The EMMY Awards, The Grammy Awards, The MTV Awards, The MTV
Movie Awards, and The SAG Awards. After opening Sound Design in 1996
Paul continues to mix some live shows, but also focuses on post production
chores, working mainly on specials and annuals, including Celine Dion's
"The Woman in Me” for CBS, Movies Rock for CBS, Singing Bee
for NBC, Def Comedy and Def Poetry for HBO, and BET’s annual Awards
show and Celebration of Gospel. In his spare time Paul is hard at work
trying to get his golf handicap into single digits for 2008.
